Christian Action Ministries (CAM) was organized in 1984 by a group of local churches to provide a central location for food distribution.  Currently CAM serves around 1,500 families each month with a four-day supply of food.

Mission Statement

Christian Action Ministries is a non-denominational local organization that is dedicated to providing caring assistance, in Christ’s name, to people experiencing temporary crisis.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to help people obtain the basic resources of food; to encourage self-sufficiency and independence, and bring together the caring communities–religious, business, and individual–for meeting these needs.

Our many volunteers graciously donated over 10,000 hours of service in 2016.  Fighting hunger on a daily basis in Taney County depends on the volunteer work of caring citizens who know that they can make a difference in the lives of others.  Won’t you make a difference here in Taney County?  There are numerous ways to volunteer, so give us a call today and find out what you can do to help.

Hunger in the United States has been dramatically increasing in the past several years. The USDA reports that 15.8 million households (12.7%) experienced food insecurity in 2015. At times during the year, these households were uncertain of having, or unable to acquire, enough food to meet the needs of all their members because they had insufficient money or other resources for food.  Based on a study conducted by Feeding America, 62 percent of Taney County residents are living below poverty level and 18.2%–nearly 10,000 residents–are food insecure.
